When I was about seventeen
My mother told me 'Heinz,
If you want to take some good advice
You better study science !'
I began my studies
Thought that it was cool
Now I'm ten years older
And a Scientific Fool
Yeah


In class at university
They bored me to death
I didn't like that stuff too much
But I took what I could get
I tried to learn my lessons
Just like I'd done at school
Now I'm educated
And a Scientific Fool

I worked for a famous institute
I struggled all the time
To find a new tubercle
Nothing else on my mind
I didn't find that little thing
And Lord I thought 'how cruel !'
As I heard somebody did

Talking about examination :
They asked me for a while
What I had learned in all those years
Well I still wonder why
Now they call me scientist
Yeah that's what they do
I'm just a little older
