ESTHER EVERY DAY by Dieter Hoffmann (dieter_hoffmann@yahoo.com) When I was younger I spent my days messing and fooling around That is something I've already told you didn't know where I was bound I didn't care for nothing just went on reaching no score But then my mirror told me I was no longer twelve for sure I turned into a manager I don't know how funny how things go Now I'm working fourteen hours a day oh what a show There's nothing in my life that I'm looking forward for no not any more But there is one exception from this rule for sure I used to be a dreamer and to live for the day But that was long ago Suddenly all my dreams had gone away Now I'm glad to see Esther every day Esther is the one who brings light into the darkness by just being there I used to know her when we both went to school a thousand years from here I met her at the bus - stop but she just turned away she didn't want to know me no more Next day I took another bus she was there for sure I used to be a dreamer and to live for the day But that was long ago Suddenly all my dreams had gone away Now I'm glad to see Esther every day I don't talk to Esther Esther doesn't talk to me but she's the queen of my life When I look at her from far away I think better than to have a wife Esther's really great she never wants to argue nobody I have to care for But she is the meaning of my life for sure I used to be a dreamer and to live for the day But that was long ago Suddenly all my dreams had gone away Now I'm glad to see Esther every day
